The FireSpray clean agent modular fire extinguisher is an automatic ceiling unit filled with clean agent gas instead of powder. When heat from a fire breaks its glass bulb, the gas floods the area below and puts the fire out, then evaporates. It leaves no powder, water or residue, so servers, UPS systems and panels are not harmed by the extinguisher itself. Why gas, not powder, for equipment rooms

A powder unit can stop a fire but leave fine dust inside racks, fans and circuit boards. Clean agent avoids that clean-up and the downtime that comes with it. It works on Class A, B and C fires and on live electrical equipment. Because it works on its own, it guards the room around the clock, including nights and holidays when nobody is watching the equipment.

Where another unit is a better fit

Gas works best in a room that can hold it. For large, open areas such as basement parking and godowns, a powder unit like the ABC modular fire extinguisher (MAP 90) or the value ceiling mounted MAP 50 unit is usually the more practical choice. For lithium battery packs, add a hand-held lithium-ion fire extinguisher near the racks.

Installation and safety

Fix the unit to the ceiling over the equipment, with the glass bulb hanging clear of cable trays and ducts. We can arrange installation for business orders. For hand-held cover at the door, add a portable clean agent fire extinguisher. If the unit discharges, everyone should leave the room. Ventilate it fully before going back in, and switch off the power to the equipment if it is safe to do so.

Monthly check

Check that the gauge needle is in the green zone, the glass bulb is intact and the body is free of dents and rust. The unit stays factory-sealed, so there are no yearly refill visits; if a covered unit fails, we replace it. Read about refill vs replace.
