Product details
ABC modular fire extinguisher with MAP 90 powder
The FireSpray ABC modular fire extinguisher is an automatic unit that hangs from the ceiling and protects the area below it on its own. When heat from a fire breaks the glass bulb, it releases MAP 90 dry powder, our strongest ABC grade. Nobody needs to be in the room. It carries the ISI mark, is pressure-tested at our factory and is covered by a 5-year warranty from the invoice date. It comes in 5 kg and 10 kg; select a size above to see its price (plus GST).
Which fires does it put out?
- Class A: wood, paper, cloth, cartons, tyres and other solids.
- Class B: petrol, diesel, oil, paint and solvents.
- Class C: flammable gases such as LPG.
MAP 90 has the most active powder per kilogram, so it knocks down a fast-growing fire quicker than lower grades. That makes it the right pick for mixed, high-risk areas where fuel, stock and wiring sit together: basement parking, godowns and warehouses, plant rooms, pump rooms, DG rooms and workshops with fuel or oil.
Where not to fit it
Powder leaves a fine residue that is hard to clean out of electronics. In server rooms, UPS rooms and control rooms, fit the residue-free clean agent modular fire extinguisher instead. A modular unit is also not meant for cooking-oil fires; commercial kitchens need a K-type kitchen fire extinguisher near the cooking line.
Which modular unit is right for you?
All four FireSpray modular units work the same way, by heat breaking the glass bulb. They differ in agent and body:
| Model | Agent and body | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| ABC modular (MAP 90) | Strongest ABC powder, painted body | High-risk parking, godowns, plant and DG rooms (this product) |
| Ceiling mounted (MAP 50) | ABC powder, painted body | Lower-risk stores, corridors, service areas |
| Clean agent modular | Clean agent gas, painted body | Server, UPS and electrical rooms |
| Auto modular (clean agent SS) | Clean agent gas, stainless steel body | Damp or premium areas with equipment |
See every unit on the modular fire extinguisher page.
5 kg or 10 kg?
| Size | Good for |
|---|---|
| 5 kg | Smaller rooms: pump rooms, DG rooms, small stores |
| 10 kg | Larger areas: parking bays, godowns, warehouse aisles |
The area each unit covers depends on its size and the ceiling height, so large sites usually need several units spread across the floor. On bulk orders we plan the number and placement for free.
Installation
The unit is fixed to the ceiling, directly above the risk, using its mounting plate. Keep the glass bulb clear of beams, ducts and anything that could block the powder. For business orders we can arrange installation. Fixed units do not replace hand-held cover: keep an ABC MAP 90 portable extinguisher near the exit so staff can tackle a small fire before the bulb breaks. If the unit discharges, leave the area, let the powder settle and ventilate before going back in.
Monthly check, no yearly refills
Once a month, look up at the unit and check that the gauge needle is in the green zone, the glass bulb is intact and the body has no dents or rust. A FireSpray unit stays factory-sealed, so there are no yearly refill visits. If a covered unit fails, we replace it under the warranty. Read more on refill vs replace.
Protecting a building or a plant?
Malls, builders, warehouses and factories get factory pricing, a GST invoice and a placement plan as per IS 2190 on orders of 10 or more, showing where each ABC modular fire extinguisher should go, plus free fire-safety training for staff. All questionsHow does an ABC modular fire extinguisher work without anyone present?
It hangs from the ceiling with a glass bulb at the bottom. When a fire heats the bulb it breaks, and the unit releases MAP 90 powder over the area below.
Is MAP 90 better than MAP 50 for a modular unit?
MAP 90 has more active powder per kilogram, so it knocks down fires faster. Choose it for high-risk parking, godowns and plant rooms; MAP 50 is the value option for lower-risk areas.
Can I fit a powder modular unit in a server room?
It is better not to. Powder leaves a residue on electronics, so server and UPS rooms should use a clean agent modular unit.
How many modular units does a basement parking need?
It depends on the floor area and ceiling height. On bulk orders we prepare a placement plan as per IS 2190 for free.
How does an automatic fire extinguisher work?
A glass bulb breaks at a set temperature and releases the agent over the area below, with no one needed.
