Product details
Water mist fire extinguisher, 6 and 9 litres
The FireSpray water mist fire extinguisher sprays a very fine mist instead of a solid jet of water. The tiny droplets absorb heat fast, so they cool a fire in wood, paper, cloth and furniture quickly while using much less water. That means less damage to floors, files and furnishings once the fire is out, and no powder to clean up. It carries the ISI mark, is pressure-tested at our factory and is covered by a 5-year warranty from the invoice date. It comes in 6 L and 9 L; select a size above to see its price (plus GST).
Why choose mist for finished spaces?
In an occupied, furnished building, a powder cloud causes mess, blocks vision and can cause panic. A jet of water can soak carpets, ceilings and paperwork. Mist sits between the two: it puts out the fire and leaves only a little moisture behind. It suits:
- Offices, meeting rooms and reception areas
- Hotels, guest rooms and corridors
- Hospitals, clinics and care homes
- Homes, flats and schools
What not to use it on
It is made for Class A fires in solid materials. For electrical panels and server racks, use a clean agent fire extinguisher or a CO2 fire extinguisher, and switch off power first if it is safe. For petrol, oil and paint, use a foam type fire extinguisher. Cooking-oil fires need a type K fire extinguisher and a fire blanket.
Water mist, water jet or powder?
| Need | Best choice |
|---|---|
| Furnished offices, hotel rooms, hospital wards | This water mist fire extinguisher |
| Godowns, timber and textile units, large open stores | Water type fire extinguisher, including trolleys |
| Mixed risks with fuel, LPG or wiring | ABC fire extinguisher |
| Server rooms and control rooms | Clean agent fire extinguisher |
Compare both water models on the water fire extinguisher page.
6 L or 9 L: which size?
| Size | Good for |
|---|---|
| 6 L | Rooms, corridors, clinics, flats |
| 9 L | Larger office floors, hotel floors, hospital wings |
Mount units near exits and stair landings so people can grab one on the way out. In a hotel or hospital, a unit on each corridor is a good start; for a home, see our guide to the fire extinguisher for home.
How to use it
- Pull the safety pin.
- Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
- Squeeze the handle and let the mist cover the burning area.
- Sweep slowly from side to side until the fire is out, then check for hot spots.
Keep an exit behind you, and leave and close the door if the fire grows. Help others out first in hospitals and hotels.
Monthly check, no yearly refills
Once a month, check that the gauge needle is in the green zone, the pin and seal are intact, and the body has no dents or rust. A FireSpray unit stays factory-sealed, so there are no yearly refill visits. If a covered unit fails, we replace it. Read more on refill vs replace.

Can't find your answer? Call or WhatsApp us on +91 72 4747 6161.
All questionsIs a water mist fire extinguisher good for hospitals and hotels?
Yes. It cools Class A fires quickly with little water and no powder, so wards, guest rooms and corridors are easier to put back in use after a fire.
Does water mist leave any mess?
Only a little moisture. There is no powder residue to clean up, unlike a dry powder extinguisher.
Can water mist be used on a server room fire?
Choose a clean agent or CO2 extinguisher for servers and electrical panels instead. Water mist is made for fires in solid materials.
Should I buy 6 L or 9 L water mist?
6 L suits rooms, corridors and flats. 9 L suits larger office floors, hotel floors and hospital wings.
What is a water fire extinguisher used for?
Class A fires only: wood, paper, cloth and cardboard. That makes it a good fit for offices, schools and warehouses.
Can a water fire extinguisher be used on electrical fires?
No. Never use water on electrical, oil or gas fires. Use CO2 or clean agent for electrical fires.
