Typical vendor vs FireSpray
Most societies pay for refills and service visits every year. Here is what changes when you buy sealed units from the factory.
| Typical vendor | FireSpray | |
|---|---|---|
| Warranty | About 1 year, or none after a refill | 5 years on every extinguisher |
| Refills | Every 1–3 years, paid by the society | Not needed. Sealed at the factory |
| What's inside | Refill powder of unknown quality | Factory-filled, batch-tested |
| Price | Dealer margin plus yearly refill bills | Factory-direct price |
| Training | Usually extra, or not offered | Free demo for residents and staff |
| Paperwork | Loose bills | GST invoice, placement plan, warranty register |

Your Society Safety Kit
Estimate: one ABC unit per floor per tower at the lift lobby or staircase, one in each ground lobby, two per parking level per tower, CO2 at each tower's meter room, plus plant rooms. Large floor plates may need more; final numbers follow IS 2190 and a site survey.
The right extinguisher for every corner
Common areas are the society's responsibility. This is where each unit goes in a typical plan.
An ABC 6 kg unit on every floor of every tower, within easy reach of the stairs.
ABC 6 kg units on pillars near ramps and exits; automatic modular units on the ceiling for large basements.
CO2 4.5 kg: no residue on meters, panels and wiring.
CO2 for the DG panel and an ABC unit for diesel and general fires.
ABC units near exits and a K-type unit wherever there is a kitchen or pantry.
Optional: ABC 2–4 kg for the home, a K-type for the kitchen and a car unit, delivered with the society order.

How many fire extinguishers does a housing society need?
As a rule of thumb under IS 2190, keep an ABC unit near the lift lobby or staircase on every floor of every tower, two per basement parking level, CO2 near meter and electrical rooms, and units in the DG room, pump room and clubhouse. Use the calculator above for an estimate; we confirm the final plan after a free site visit.
Do we still need to refill the extinguishers every year?
No. FireSpray extinguishers are factory-sealed and pressure-tested, and carry a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Your guard checks the gauge once a month; there is no yearly refill bill.
Is the fire-safety training really free for our society?
Yes. With a society order a FireSpray trainer runs a live demo for residents, guards and housekeeping staff: types of fire, the P.A.S.S. method and the monthly gauge check.
Can we get a quotation for our committee meeting?
Yes. Share the number of towers, floors and parking levels and we send a GST quotation with a floor-wise placement plan, ready to put before the managing committee.
Will this help with our fire audit or NOC renewal?
We give a floor-wise placement plan as per IS 2190, a GST invoice and one warranty register for every unit, so your records are ready for inspections and renewals.
Can residents buy extinguishers for their own flats and cars?
Yes. Residents can order home and car units along with the society order and get them delivered and explained at the same visit.
