Product details
6 kg ABC fire extinguisher with MAP 90 powder
This is our strongest ABC model. It is filled with MAP 90 dry chemical powder, the grade with the most active powder per kilogram, so it knocks down a fire faster on high-risk sites such as factories, warehouses, fuel and generator areas. The 6 kg ABC fire extinguisher is the size most businesses choose for lobbies, schools, godowns and factory floors, and the same MAP 90 powder is also available in 1 kg, 2 kg, 4 kg and 9 kg. Every unit is ISI marked, pressure-tested at our factory and covered by a 5-year warranty from the invoice date. Select a size above to see its price (plus GST).
Which fires does it put out?
- Class A: wood, paper, cloth, plastic and other solid materials, common in stores, packing areas and godowns.
- Class B: petrol, diesel, oil, paint and solvents, found near DG sets, fuel points and workshops.
- Class C: LPG and other flammable gases.
It can also be used on fires in electrical equipment; switch off the power first if it is safe to do so. It is not for cooking-oil fires in a kitchen: use a K-type kitchen fire extinguisher there. For server rooms and control panels, where powder would coat the equipment, a clean agent extinguisher for electrical panels is the better choice.
Why MAP 90 for high-risk sites?
The MAP number is the share of mono-ammonium phosphate, the active part of the powder. A higher share means faster knock-down per kilogram, which matters where fuel, stock or machinery can let a fire grow quickly. If your risk is ordinary, a lower grade will do the job:
| Grade | Best for | Product |
|---|---|---|
| MAP 90 | Factories, warehouses, fuel and generator areas | This product |
| MAP 50 | Offices, schools and commercial floors | ABC powder fire extinguisher |
| MAP 40 | Homes, flats, shops and small offices | ABC type fire extinguisher |
All grades are listed on the ABC fire extinguisher page.
Is 6 kg the right size?
| Size | Good for |
|---|---|
| 1 kg and 2 kg | Vehicles, cabins, small store rooms |
| 4 kg | Site offices, small workshops, shop floors |
| 6 kg | Lobbies, schools, warehouses, factory bays (most popular) |
| 9 kg | Large factory floors, godowns, parking |
For very large open areas, back up your 6 kg ABC fire extinguisher and 9 kg units with a 25 kg or 50 kg wheeled fire extinguisher. Basement stores and areas that are often unattended can add a ceiling-mounted ABC modular extinguisher.

How to use it
- Pull the safety pin.
- Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
- Squeeze the handle.
- Sweep from side to side until the fire is out.
Keep the unit upright, stand two to four metres away and keep an exit behind you. A full 6 kg unit empties in seconds, so if the fire is still growing, leave and call the fire brigade. Mount it on a wall bracket or a floor stand near exits, and use a fire extinguisher box in yards and loading bays.
Monthly check, no yearly refills
Once a month, check that the gauge needle is in the green zone, the pin and seal are intact, and the body has no dents or rust. A FireSpray unit stays factory-sealed, so there are no yearly refills; if a covered unit fails, we replace it. Read more on refill vs replace.

All questionsIs a 6 kg ABC fire extinguisher enough for a factory floor?
It is the usual size for factory bays, warehouses and lobbies, placed within easy reach near exits on every floor. For large open floors, add a 25 kg or 50 kg wheeled unit as back-up; we prepare a placement plan as per IS 2190 on orders of 10 or more.
Why choose MAP 90 instead of MAP 40 or MAP 50?
MAP 90 has the most active powder per kilogram, so it knocks down a fire faster. It suits high-risk sites such as factories, fuel and generator areas; for offices or homes, MAP 50 or MAP 40 is usually enough.
Is the MAP 90 powder available in sizes other than 6 kg?
Yes. The same MAP 90 grade comes in 1 kg, 2 kg, 4 kg, 6 kg and 9 kg. Select a size on this page to see its price, plus GST.
How far away should I stand when using it?
Stand about 2 to 4 metres from the fire, which is the effective range printed on our 6 kg label. Keep an exit behind you and leave if the fire grows.
What is an ABC fire extinguisher used for?
It puts out Class A fires (wood, paper, cloth), Class B fires (petrol, oil, paint) and Class C fires (LPG and other gases). It can also be used on electrical equipment fires; switch off the power first if it is safe to do so.
What does ABC mean in a fire extinguisher?
ABC refers to the three fire classes it covers: A (solids), B (flammable liquids) and C (flammable gases). It is not an abbreviation of a chemical name.
