Stainless steel ABC fire extinguisher for premium and coastal spaces
A stainless steel ABC fire extinguisher gives the same all-round protection as our painted ABC units, in a cylinder that does not rust. That matters in coastal cities where salty air eats into painted steel, in hospitals and labs that are cleaned often, and in hotels and showrooms where a chipped red cylinder looks out of place. It is ISI marked, pressure-tested at our factory and covered by a 5-year warranty from the invoice date. It comes in 1 kg, 2 kg, 4 kg, 6 kg and 9 kg; select a size above to see its price (plus GST).
Why choose a stainless steel body?
- No rust: stays sound in sea air, humid basements and areas that are washed down often.
- Easy to wipe clean: suits hospital wards, clinics, labs and food areas.
- Looks right indoors: sits well in hotel lobbies, showrooms and premium offices.
Which fires does it put out?
- Class A: wood, paper, cloth, plastic and other solid materials.
- Class B: petrol, diesel, oil, paint and solvents.
- Class C: LPG and other flammable gases.
It can also be used on electrical fires; switch off the power first if it is safe to do so. It is not for cooking-oil fires: hotel and hospital kitchens need a kitchen fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. Where powder residue would harm electronics, such as server rooms and diagnostic equipment, choose the clean agent stainless steel fire extinguisher, which has the same rust-free body.
Stainless steel or painted ABC?
| Model | Body | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| This product | Stainless steel | Coastal sites, hospitals, hotels, showrooms, food areas |
| ABC powder fire extinguisher (MAP 50) | Painted mild steel | Offices, schools, commercial floors |
| 6 kg ABC fire extinguisher (MAP 90) | Painted mild steel | Factories, warehouses, fuel areas |
If rust and looks are not a concern, a painted unit does the same fire-fighting job. Compare all models on the ABC fire extinguisher page.
Which size do I need?
| Size | Good for |
|---|---|
| 1 kg and 2 kg | Cars, cabins, nurse stations, reception desks |
| 4 kg | Hotel floors, clinics, showrooms, coastal homes |
| 6 kg and 9 kg | Lobbies, corridors, larger floors and plant areas |
Mount it on a wall bracket or a floor stand near exits. For an open deck or a sea-facing terrace, a fire extinguisher cabinet keeps out rain and sun.

How to use it
- Pull the safety pin.
- Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
- Squeeze the handle.
- Sweep from side to side.
Stand two to four metres away, keep an exit behind you and leave at once if the fire grows. In hospitals, follow your evacuation plan for patients first.
Monthly check, no yearly refills
Once a month, check that the gauge needle is in the green zone, the pin and seal are intact, and the body has no dents. A stainless steel ABC fire extinguisher stays factory-sealed, so there are no yearly refills; if a covered unit fails, we replace it. Read more on refill vs replace.

All questionsWhy buy a stainless steel ABC fire extinguisher instead of a red one?
The stainless steel body does not rust, so it lasts better in coastal air, humid basements and areas that are washed often. It also suits hospitals, hotels and showrooms where looks matter.
Does the stainless steel body change how it puts out a fire?
No. It puts out the same Class A, B and C fires as our painted ABC units. Only the cylinder material is different.
Is it suitable for hospitals?
Yes, for corridors, wards and nurse stations. For rooms with sensitive diagnostic equipment, the clean agent stainless steel extinguisher avoids powder residue.
Can I keep it outdoors near the sea?
The body resists rust, but keep it in a fire extinguisher cabinet or box on an open deck or terrace to protect it from rain and direct sun.
What is an ABC fire extinguisher used for?
It puts out Class A fires (wood, paper, cloth), Class B fires (petrol, oil, paint) and Class C fires (LPG and other gases). It can also be used on electrical equipment fires; switch off the power first if it is safe to do so.
What does ABC mean in a fire extinguisher?
ABC refers to the three fire classes it covers: A (solids), B (flammable liquids) and C (flammable gases). It is not an abbreviation of a chemical name.
